Phoenix School of Roseburg:
"Phoenix of Roseburg provides year-around positive youth development through accredited charter school and alternative learning options, social supports, health and addiction services, homeless youth outreach, teen parent programming, and employability programs to help youth succeed in school and life.
Our mission is to teach at risk youth the knowledge, skills, and understandings necessary to become caring, committed, productive citizens. Since 1981 we have been Douglas County's primary school resource for under-served, disconnected youth and currently serve 350+ youth annually. Our grade 8-12 charter school and alternative programs have received local, state and regional recognition over the years for outstanding performance (twice named Oregon's alternate school of the year, charter school of the year, Oregon Youth Corps program of the year, accreditation with merit, etc.).
We also provide community leadership in coalition building local capacity to meet the needs of youth including Creating Community Resilience which leads efforts to increase community trauma-informed awareness, principles, and practices and Douglas County Partners for Student Success to develop STEM Education and Career-Connected Learning capacity."
